PlayStation®5 and 4Īll EA games follow the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 parental controls. This means that your child won’t be able to play EA games that need an EA Account to link to Steam. You can adjust the parental controls so your child can only use their teen account to play the single-player, offline modes of an EA game using your platform parental controls. Many of our games will selectively disable a single feature based on the parental controls set (so if you disable multiplayer through the parental controls, they won’t be able to access that feature in-game), but other titles will disable all online features. For example, if you disable communicating with other players in your platform parental controls, that will disable communications with other players in the EA game as well. If your child is under the age of 18 years and is playing, you may also be able to set parental controls on a platform level which will be followed in our games. Playtime controls are only available through EA Desktop. If you're having trouble with the spend controls for EA Desktop, you can switch back to Origin while we're still in Beta testing.

Learn how to link your teen’s account to yours so you can set spend and playtime controls for them: If you link your child’s teen account to yours, we have settings that allow you to set spend and playtime limits for your teen. They also can’t connect their games to social media or link their accounts to Steam. That means they can’t use help.ea.com to make a case with us, use companion web apps for games, or use mobile companion apps that need an EA Account login.
Child accounts can, however, redeem game codes purchased by adult players.īecause they can’t get online, child accounts also can’t log in to our websites. They’re also unable to make purchases since they can’t access the EA Desktop or Origin Store, so they can’t have EA Play memberships or use EA Gift Cards.

Based on the settings you choose, you may be able to allow access to online play for your child: EA Desktop and OriginĬhild accounts can’t play online modes on PC or Mac. Check out our breakdown by platform to see how you can set up parental control settings. This depends on the platform they’re playing on. That’s the username you set up for them when you created their account. When logging into Origin, you need to use your child’s EA ID instead of an email address. Access to these features depends on the game and platform, as well as the parental controls that have been set. This is to ensure players under the minimum age in their country have an age-appropriate experience. Child accounts may not have access to certain features like online multiplayer modes, purchases, and social media connections.
